Before and Beyond The Niagara Movement: As the Youth See It (2011) is a curriculum is designed to help teachers, advisers, mentors, and parents lead students through activities that take a critical look at the history of people of African descent in an effort to help students incorporate these facts into their knowledge of United States history. By exploring these missing pieces of United States history, that have been largely ignored in textbooks, we hope that all who engage in this educational resource will come to a better understanding of their individual “points of reference” and help move the discussion of slavery to a productive place in the United States and around the world.
